Folk illuminations traversed by epic sound swells––high above a crepuscular landscape, the ghost of Vic Chesnutt floats along to the tempo of a wobbly metronome before melting into a base of hooky songwriting, borrowing its airy movements from the orchestrations of The Microphones.

Brooklyn based Holy Spirits first formed as friends in Ft. Benning, Georgia. Classical guitar melodies with baroque upheavals erupt into hand claps, distorted guitar chords, vocal harmonies, synth sounds and folk rock.

Mutual Benefit have said, "We set off to make a nautical funeral of sorts or perhaps a celebration of all things eventually turning into sand," and indeed their music evokes a gradual geological procession through the lens of sentimental and pensive human observation. Steadfastly droney with the bellows of harmonicas and accordians in tow, their lingering sound is endlessly enchanting.
