Bird Call
Bird Call is the NYC-based musical project founded by singer and musician Chiara Angelicola. After having written a collection of new songs in the winter of 2011, Angelicola approached musician, composer, and orchestrator Bryan Senti (Mark Ronson, Rufus Wainwright) to produce the former’s first full-length record. Since January of 2012, Chiara and Bryan have embarked on a musical journey crafting a sonic landscape that encompasses the body of work found in the new record, “Will We Get To Mars?”.
Newly synthesized, Bird Call explores a range of emotional territory with her voice, lyrics, and stage presence whilst providing an aural backdrop that is variably danceable, electronically driven, and, at times, futuristic and experimental.
“Miracle Man” is the first track from WWGTM, which the artist debuted in the form of a music video this past fall. Amidst the year of production, Bird lured new fans and perked ears while touring through the southeast in September 2012, showcasing at SXSW and CMJ, and opening for Brooklyn favorites including Majical Cloudz and Angel Olsen. Bird Call’s second track “Phantom Limbs” will premiere in January of 2013 alongside some new NYC shows and winter/spring tour announcements.

Child Actor
Child Actor's dreamily powerful blend of electronics, R&B and indie rock emerged fully formed in early 2012. By the end of the year, they had signed to rising indie label Fake Four Inc., made half a dozen music videos, released their debut LP, Victory, performed their first series of live shows, and caught the attention of dozens of publications from The Fader to The Guardian. Child Actor's omnivorous production consisting of mountains of synths and samples can make for an intense listening experience, but it is always balanced by intimate, enigmatic male/female vocal performances. Child Actor's R&B influences have led some to liken them to groups like the XX and Purity Ring, but their hypnotic, often pleasingly damaged sound has also earned them comparisons to My Bloody Valentine and M83. This show marks the final date of their first west coast tour alongside like-minded label mates Blue Sky Black Death.
