Reggie Watts
Reggie Watts
After a smash success at the 2012 festival, SF Sketchfest welcomes back the specially-curated series known as "Reggidency: a Reggie Watts series." The brilliant comic and musical improviser Reggie Watts will play three dates at three separate venues, each one unpredictable, original and wildly different. Part 1: "Reggie Watts + The Amy O'Neal Dance Crew: Movement and Music" pairs Reggie with an acclaimed Seattle modern dance troupe. Part 2: "Reggie Watts + Michael Winslow: Sound Effects Summit" unites Reggie with the "Man of 10,000 Sound Effects," Police Academy star Michael Winslow. Part 3: "Reggie Watts + Robert Glasper: The Rematch with special guest Chris Dave" reunites Reggie and Grammy-nominated pianist and jazz/hip-hop sensation Robert Glasper after last year's highly successful collaboration, this time adding special guest drummer Chris Dave.

Baby Alpaca (Duo Set)
Baby Alpaca is an American singer/songwriter. Born in Ohio in 1984, his birth name is Christopher Caleb Kittrell. He was raised on a farm outside of Cincinnati.

"When I was 7 I would walk around the woods in Ohio and sing to the birds. Look at the skies through the trees and dream about what was beyond sight. I started listening to my moms records and cassettes. Fell in love with rock n' roll, "Dirty Dancing", and was so curious about the "Pretty Woman" Roy Orbison sang of. In elementary school I was on stage singing "What a Wonderful World" with my classmates and knew I wanted to be a performer for life."

He began singing, painting, and writing poems/stories about what he saw in life. "The Songs that I sing are a reflection of what I see in the world. A celebration of love, life, freedom, and loss. One of my favorites is called "We Belong Together" It's an observation of things I've seen in nature. The cycle of life and energy. And that the only comfort we truly have is to be with each other. The way the sun and the moon rotate together. The life cycle of a caterpillar/butterfly. How rain evaporates, leaves dry, and clouds cry. Making rivers rush and seagulls flock. Forever, we stick together because we are all lost."

Curiosity lead Kittrell to New York City, where he met fellow bandmate, guitarist and pianist, Zach McMillan. The past 3 years they have been performing and putting together a full band. After writing over 100 songs the first studio record is almost finished with production.

"Deciding on the material for the first record was difficult. There are so many songs that I love, but you can't have 100 songs on a record! We've been working with 16 in the studio. I'm so excited to put this record out into the world."

"I think art is the best way to unite people. It is a tangible way for us to see/hear/feel we are together and in common."
